Sindhu Maria Napoleon is a journalist, researcher, activist and one of the founding members of CSCF. A native of Thiruvananthapuram, she has been actively involved in the numerous movements for coastal indigenous populations’ rights.

Coastal Student’s Cultural Forum (CSCF) was established in 2016, as Kerala’s first coastal student & youth led movement. A non-profit organisation, CSCF was founded by a group of like-minded youngsters from the coastal communities across Thiruvananthapuram.

Over the years, CSCF has made great strides in their efforts at social revolution, focussing greatly on community engagement.

Sindhu Maria Napoleon is a journalist, researcher, activist and one of the founding members of CSCF. She has been at the heart of several of its movements, including CSCF’s involvement in the protests against the Vizhinjam port project.

In this dialogue with Voyance, Sindhu reflects on CSCF’s journey and evaluates the social, political and cultural challenges affecting the coastal indigenous populations of Kerala.
